Jamia alumnus Zafar Bari, who came from Riyadh to attend marriage, gets lung infection, dies

Jamia Millia Islamia alumnus Zafar A Bari, 47, died at 10 am today in Johri Farm, according to Najeeb Qasmi.

He had come from Riyadh to attend a marriage in his hometown in Muzaffarpur in Bihar three weeks ago and got lung infection, said Qasmi.

“He developed some problem in his lungs and couldn’t get proper treatment and died due to lungs complication. He was a sugar patient,” he said.

When asked whether he died of Covid, Qasmi told the OT over phone that he was not infected of coronavirus.

Zafar studied at International Indian School, Riyadh and then later on he did his BA in English (1994-1997) from Aligarh Muslim University and later on he did MA in Social Work from Jamia in 1997-1999, wrote Qasmi.

After that he went to the Middle East where for the last 22 years he has been staying there and working. He lived in Johri Farm with his family.

He has left behind 2 sons and one daughter.
