Camps will be organised for construction workers in the offices of the Labour Department located in all 11 districts of Delhi. A help desk will be set up here to help the labourers. To provide benefits of government schemes to the construction workers, they will be linked to the new web portal of the Labour Department. Along with this, a monthly magazine will also be distributed to the labourers by the Labour Department, which will include information about all the schemes of the Delhi government relevant to them.

In the review meeting, Raaj Kumar Anand gave strict instructions to the officials of the Labour Department to conduct all the proceedings of the Labour Court under CCTV surveillance. Along with this, the registered construction workers who are not receiving the benefit of government services due to lack of documents have been instructed to contact them through SMS and calls.

The Labour Minister has instructed the department to issue a monthly magazine from next month to help make labourers more aware of existing schemes of the government, which are especially related to construction workers of the Kejriwal government. Along with this, information will also be given about the steps and new initiatives being taken by the Delhi government in the interest of the workers. Workers will be informed on how these schemes of the government are beneficial for them and how they can take advantage of these schemes by applying for them.

These monthly magazines will be distributed to the labourers coming to the mega registration and awareness camp. This monthly magazine will also be distributed at Labour Chowk in Delhi to create awareness among more and more construction workers. Moreover, the Kejriwal government will make the labourers more aware by putting up poster-banners at the construction site and also by releasing a jingle on the radio.

Moving towards digitization, Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (DBOCWWB) has recently launched a new website. Thousands of construction workers have already registered with the Delhi government. To digitally connect every construction worker in Delhi, the mega registration camp is to be organized in each district. Here, a help desk will be set up for the workers. Computer operators will connect the labourers with the new portal of the Labour Department. The mega registration and awareness camp will be conducted for one month, with the possibility that its duration may be extended later, as per the requirement. Arrangements for the workers such as water will be made available in the camp. Proper arrangements will also be made in the camp to provide relief to the labourers from the heat.

Raaj Kumar Anand said that all the documents of the Labour Department have now been uploaded on the digital platform. Along with this, all the documents of registered construction workers are also being added to the government records. But there are still those registered construction workers who are not enjoying the benefit of government services due to lack of documents. In those cases, Raaj Kumar Anand has instructed the workers to contact them directly through SMS and calls. After contacting the workers, they will be asked to submit the documents immediately so that they can take advantage of the schemes of the government. Earlier, the Labour Department used to send letters to the homes of registered construction labourers for lack of documents. On the instructions of the Labour Minister, a campaign will be started soon for disposal of such pending applications.

Anand who had inspected the offices of the Labour Department in the past and taken cognizance of the inconveniences found there, instructed the officials to take appropriate steps. To that end, in the review meeting held on Thursday, he has given strict instructions to conduct all proceedings of the Labour Court under the supervision of CCTV cameras. Strict action will be taken if any kind of irregularity is found in this regard.
