Another woman appointed at top post in Jamia
Top three positions in Jamia Millia Islamia are occupied by women with Tanseem Fatma being the new entrant.

Vice Chancellor and Chancellor are women.
In a notice dated November 11, the university said: “…Jamia is pleased to appoint Professor Tanseem Fatma, Department of Biosciences, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Jamia, as Pro Vice Chancellor with immediate effect till the expiry of the term of the present Vice Chancellor or till she attains the age of 65 years or till further orders, whichever is earlier.”

Born on January 23, 1957, Professor Fatma is a known face who has word several awards. Of them the latest being fellowship of the year Award-2019 NESA, New Delhi 2020 and International Research Peace Award, 2019 IJRULA 2019.

Before joining Jamia in 1986 as Lecturer, she was associated with Kanpur University (P.P.N. P.G. College).

She was head of the Department & Chairman BOS, Department of Biosciences, Jamia, (2001-2004), course cordinator – e-content, Mass Communication, JMI (2013-2015) and more.
