- Update on former Okhla MLA Asif arrested on Wednesday from his Kalindi Kunj house. According to lawyer Mohd Areeb Hasan, who was present in the court, Asif has been sent to 14 days judicial custody.
Areeb said they will apply for bail soon as decision on this will be taken by the team tonight. The official statement for Asif arrest is yet to come but the buzz is he was arrested hours after altercation with the cop.
After the OT ran a report on Wednesday about his arrest, AAP leader Saud Khan commented that Asif was again arrested for “misbehaving with the police.
In a statement, the police said: “On 04-01-23 at 2 pm, Police officials of Shaheen bagh were checking the CCTV cameras in Nai Basti area regarding an incident of MV Theft. Asif Mohammad Khan came on the spot and started misbehaving with the police staff. Accordingly, a case U/S 186,353,341,153 A IPC has been registered at PS Shaheen Bagh and accused Asif Mohd Khan was arrested. Thereafter, he has been sent to 14 days judicial custody by order of the court.”
