Watch: Traffic nightmare on Okhla Head road, Jamia Nagar faces heat, according to commuters.
Since morning when the road at Okhla Head was barricade to carry out anti-encroachment demolition drive at Okhla Head one at TTI road near Tikona Park and the other nearby, the traffic has been thrown out of gear with residents complaining of unseen traffic gridlock.
A resident said the situation is such that its impact can be felt up to Shaheen Bagh and Abul Fazal Enclave with many routes being diverted. An Okhla-based journalist Naskshab who got stuck while going to his office said there was barricade at Okhla Head and it most probably triggered traffic jam across Jamia Nagar in many places residents were seen walking to their destination.
At Okhla Head too residents were not allowed to enter the TTI road from Okhla Head, said a resident, adding that it was chaotic day in Jamia Nagar with traffic jam even in Batla Hous and other areas.
The barricade was removed at Okhla Head near Jamia Nagar police station a little bit. Many residents who were waiting for their children to arrive from school were informed new location to pick up their wards, said another resident.
Since morning there was traffic jam and till the filing of the report it has continued, said residents.
