About 24-years-old, Talib was a painter and only son in his family of three children, including two sisters. A relative said the youth was never into any fight and was just into his work and a fight over gulli danda took his life. His body is to be taken to his hometown in UP, said the relative.

As the words spread in the locality, Talib’s close family members turned up at the Jamia Nagar Police Station demanding justice. Arrests were made in the case and FIR also registered with investigation in the case still on.

Local Congress leaders, including Councillor Shoaib Danish and former Okhla Congress MLA Asif Md Khan, also turned up to support the family. “The family is very poor and this injustice. Those behind the killing of an innocent boy should be arrested immediately,” he said.

MIM leader Afzal Khan Afridi, who is seeking ticket from the party, said a young life has been taken on a minor issue. He is joint secretary of MIM and a resident of the locality. Large number of local residents was seen at the spot with women reading Quran.
