A boy born in slum and who used to sell biryani on a handcart in Jamia Nagar has literally achieved a milestone: He got a job offer from India’s biggest bank of Rs 8 lakh, 50,000 per annum.

All was not a cakewalk for Shakir, who helped his poor parents in their small biryani business, and continued his study, dreaming big. But without help from Aseem Asha Foundation, Shakir’s dream could have been unfulfilled like many other impoverished children. Director of AAF Aseem Usman told the OT that when Shakir came to him first he was a shy boy who always talked with him to make big in life by getting quality education.

“The NGO funded him throughout and when he got admission in MBA in Amity, we crowd funded his fees and that is how he completed his studies. The good thing is that now he has got a job and very soon he is to start a new inning with a salary package of Rs 8 lakh, 50,000 per annum,” said Aseem.
