Talib, 25, died after a fight over gulli danda in Batla House two days ago. His family members said he was beaten to death by many local residents. Some Congress leaders have termed the incident as lynching in the area.

Arrests have been made and FIR lodged, said police, adding that efforts are on to arrest more accused.

The family is demanding strict action against the accused.

Three people, including a juvenile, were nabbed for allegedly killing a man. The incident, which took place on Friday afternoon, was captured by the locals on their mobile phones, said police.

In one of the video clips, a mob was purportedly seen beating up the victim with sticks. One of them was also seen picking up a wooden log and attacking the victim.
Talib was rushed to a hospital but he succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the Safdarjung hospital, the officer said.

As words spread in the locality, family members of Talib, mostly women, turned up outside Jamia Nagar Police Station on Saturday, seeking justice for the deceased.

Talib’s father alleged the involvement of a man named Irfan and his associates in the incident, the officer said.
Irfan, one of his associates and a juvenile were apprehended, while efforts are on to arrest the remaining accused, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Esha Pandey said.
