Services between Shaheen Bagh-Botanical Garden metro stations restored after suspension due to ‘security’ reason

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation tweeted at 2.50 pm on Sunday that services are not available between Shaheen Bagh-Botanical Garden metro stations to alert commuters. “Magenta Line Update Services are not available between Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh to Botanical Garden due to security reason. Normal services on all other lines,” it tweeted around 2:50 pm.

Later, in another tweet, it said: “Normal services have resumed.”

Delhi Police said operations were suspended as a drone carrying medical supplies had fallen on the metro track near Jasola Vihar, reported the HT.

“…Due to this, metro service from Jasola Vihar, Shaheen Bagh to Botanical Garden was disrupted but now metro service has resumed,” news agency ANI quoted the police.

“We are checking their documents whether permission from DGCA is there or not. We are investigating it and on the basis of the investigation necessary action will be taken,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Metro, Jitendra Mani, was quoted.

“We received a call around 2.35 pm that a drone has been found on the metro track near Jasola Vihar. Police, dog squad reached the spot & found a packet of medicine there. The drone belongs to a Noida-based company, which supplies medicines through it,” he added.
