Shaheen Bagh snatching case cracked: 2 held, 2 mobile phones, motorcycle recovered

The local police said it cracked mobile snatching case by arresting two people. Two mobile phones, one motorcycle seized and one motorcycle recovered from the accused, the police said.

They disclosed that they had stolen one motorcycle from Jaitpur and snatched one mobile phone near Saheen Bagh Metro station, they said, adding that both of them along with other associates robbed money from one person in Jasola Vihar in a TSR.

The incident happened with a complainant two days ago when he was going home, said the police, adding that the incident took place at 11:00 pm two days ago when he reached near Radha Krishna Mandir Janta Flat.

“Two persons came near to the complainant riding a motorcycle and pillion rider snatched his mobile phone and when the accused tried to escape the victim raised alarm. Cops who were patrolling in the area responded to the alarm of the complainant. Both the accused persons were apprehended after chasing them and the snatched mobile phone was recovered from their possession. Accordingly, a case FIR was registered.

“During the course of investigation the bike used in commission of crime has also been taken into police possession. On sustained interrogation, both the accused disclosed that they had no job and to fulfill their daily needs they committed theft burglary snatching and robbery,” it said.

One accused work as ragpicker and the other as vegetable vendor, said police.
