Last date of property tax payment extended

SDMC Mayor Mukesh Suryan stated that for the convenience of property taxpayers, it has been decided to extend the last date of payment of 2021-22 property tax from 30th June, 2021 to 31st July, 2021.

He added that the decision has been taken to facilitate the taxpayers to file the current year’s tax with 15 percent rebate if they have missed the deadline of 30th June 2021 due to any unavailable reason. He further exhorted the taxpayers to make payment of their due property tax before the new last date i.e. 31st July, 2021 in order to avail 15 percent rebate.

He further said that this year, in order to facilitate the general public, SDMC has only been providing an online facility for filing of property tax returns. He said that 2 percent rebate is being provided on online payment of property tax up to Rs 10,000. Besides this, 3 percent special rebate is being given to the taxpayers of residential properties who have been vaccinated for Covid-19.

Mayor also said in addition to this, the SDMC is trying to provide more relief to its citizens and are organising special property tax camps in all colonies in association with Common Service Centres (CSC), RWAs and local area councillors.

Online facility of property tax payment is available at 1,441 CSCs in the SDMC area. Facility of property tax payment is also available through the SDMC website.
