In the email, the students wrote: “Regarding reopening of schools and declaration of Jamia Board exam dates of Class X, XII 2022. We are writing this application to formally request you on behalf of the Class X, XII students of Jamia to declare the date-sheet of Jamia Board exams 2022 and reopen the schools.”

Zafar Ahmad Siddiqui, Principal of Syed Abid Hussain Senior Secondary School, declined to comment on the issue of whether he has received any email from students and opening and declaring of exam dates of schools.

Prof Atiqur Rahman, principal Senior Secondary school, told the OT over phone that the decision regarding it will be taken by the university authorities who will decide in due course of time in the best interest of students.

He told the portal to contact university PRO. When the PRO didn’t pick up the phone, the OT dropped him a message asking him about the plan to open Jamia schools. In a message to the OT, the PRO said it is under active consideration.

Earlier, Dr Nazim Husain Al-Jafri, Controller of Examinations Jamia and Registrar, also told the portal contact the PRO on the issue.

Students said they are worried about their future at a time when schools across the country have been opened after Covid situation has normalised.

“I m also a student of Class XII of Syed Abid Hussain Senior Secondary School and we have same demands,” wrote another student.

“We would like to let you know our following demands: 1. The Jamia administration should clarify about the preparedness to conduct Board exams and also let us know the mode of examination in an official circular. 2. Many national boards in our country like CBSE, New Delhi and CISCE, New Delhi have already released official notice regarding board exam so that the appearing students would be mentally prepared to face the board exam. So, we also want to get this type of clarity from our Jamia board.

“3. All the schools in the national capital have been opened for Physical mode ranging from government schools to private schools but our Jamia schools have not even said a single word about it and making our future vulnerable due to their negligence,” wrote the students in the email.
