Samsung has launched its new software update, One UI 8. This update is based on Android 16. The company started rolling it out this week with the Galaxy S25 series. In the coming days, the update will reach the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy S24 FE, and other eligible devices. The Galaxy F and M series will also receive this update a few months later.

The company said, “One UI 8 recognizes your daily routines and offers personalized, proactive suggestions to make life smarter.”It means that the company will make AI a part of your daily routines and the system will try to understand users’ need and habit and give suggestions based on it.

The new update focuses not only on personalization but also on security. It includes a feature called Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP). It creates separate encrypted storage for each app, preventing any app from accessing other apps’ data. Furthermore, Knox Matrix automatically signs out of Samsung accounts when a serious threat is detected. It also sends alerts to other connected Galaxy devices. It also features Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), a new cryptographic framework that provides strong privacy even on public networks.

One UI 8 includes several new AI-related features. The Now Bar now appears directly on the Galaxy Z Flip’s Flex Window. It displays app activity and media progress in real-time. Support for third-party apps has also expanded. Now Brief provides users with information such as traffic, important reminders, and health updates. Samsung Moments also includes a feature that helps users better understand their daily routine. It also recommends music and videos based on subscriptions and interests.

Gemini Live allows users to interact directly with AI without switching apps. It recognizes what’s happening on the user’s screen and responds accordingly. Circle to Search with Google is very useful when gaming. Circle an object on the screen to instantly display related information. It also has an improved translation feature. When users read text, it instantly translates it into their preferred language.

Multi Window has been made smarter for large-screen devices. Using it one can drag and drop AI generated images or text directly wherever needed. Tools like Drawing Assist and Writing Assist make creative work easier. Audio Eraser detects and removes background noise in one click.

The interface has also received several changes. The new clock now resizes to match the wallpaper. It fits around images without distorting them. The clock’s size, color, and thickness can also be changed. FlexWindow also has new wallpaper and emoji customization options. Users can create new wallpapers based on suggestions from the gallery.

One UI 8 also includes an AI-powered tool called Portrait Studio. It takes photos of pets and turns them into artistic portraits. The Call Captions feature makes conversations easier even in noisy environments. It instantly converts spoken text into text. Interpreter now supports keyboard input, allowing users to type and translate instantly.

This update from Samsung will gradually reach more devices. Several Galaxy A series models will also receive this update.
