Robber targets Unique Bakery, decamps with Rs 30K, expensive chocolates: Owner

A robbery incident has been reported from Zakir Nagar with a shop owner of Okhla’s one of the oldest bakeries claiming that a robber decamped with Rs 30,000 and expensive chocolates from his shop.

Owner of Unique Bakery Musheer said the robber broke open the shutter early morning two days ago and took away expensive chocolates and other items. The robber’s activity was captured on CCTV. The video has been doing the rounds in the locality, said residents.

Since the incident happened I have got several calls from many people about the wellbeing of the shop, he said, adding that in the last fifteen days several robberies have been reported in Jogabai road.

Many residents, including activists, were seen outside Unique Bakery standing and discussing the incident. A resident by the name Waseem said robbery cases have increased with many residents complaining about pick pocketing also.

Okhla Welfare Market Association members were also seen around. Many were of the opinion that a meeting should be held to find a solution to the burning issue.
