Four girl research scholars from Jamia make university proud

It is a matter of great pride for the Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) that four girl research scholars of the university have been awarded the coveted Prime Minister Research Fellowship (PMRF).

Name of the successful researchers and their supervisors are:-
1) Aleena Anwar
Guide: Prof. Mohammad Mahfuzul Haque, Department of Bio-Technology, JMI

2) Suwaiba Mateen
Guide: Dr. Ahteshamul Haque, Department of Electrical Engineering, JMI

3) Kajal
Guide: Prof. A.K. Hafiz, Centre for Nanoscience & Nanotechnology, JMI

4) Lubna Khan
Guide: Rashid Ali, Department of Chemistry, JMI.

Elated over development, JMI Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar, said: “JMI stands for excellence and strives hard to provide its students every possible support to achieve great heights.”

This performance reflects university’s focus on high quality research and I am particularly happy that the all four achievers are girl researchers, she said.

Prof. Abdul Quaiyum Ansari, Coordinator, PMRF, JMI said that these researchers would be individually getting a fellowship of Rs 70,000/- for the first two years, Rs 75,000/- for 3rd year, Rs.80,000/- for the fourth and fifth year respectively.

Apart from this, each Fellow would be getting a research grant of Rs. 2 Lakhs per year (a total of Rs 10 Lakhs for five years) under the PMRF.
