Urdu literature: Towering Qais Rampuri no more, tadfeen in Shaheen Bagh

Qais Rampuri, Urdu poet and retired news editor Sahara Urdu, suffering from paralysis for the last few years, passed away on Saturday at 9.30 pm at his Okhla house.

The poet’s daughter Tazeen Sultana said her father was 75 years old.

He belonged to Rampur but was settled in Old Delhi and then later on moved to Shaheen Bagh and then to Jasola, said his son Shiraz.

Tadfeen will take place in Shaheen Bagh qabristan after namaze asar, said Fahad Sherwani.
