2,000 posters removed from public places, metro pillars and markets: SDMC

In view of Swachh Survekshan-2021, South Delhi Municipal Corporation today carried a sanitation and poster removal drive in all its zones.

Under the drive, posters were removed from public places, markets, metro pillars, roads, key places, etc. Nearly 2,000 posters, banners and hoardings were removed, said the SDMC, adding that the drive will be continued till March 2.

Nodal Officer of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Rajiv Jain said in order to improve ranking in Swachh Survekshan-2021, theme based sanitation drives are being carried  in area under jurisdiction of South MCD and poster removal drive is part of it .

The drive was started today from 85 locations including Najafgarh Road, New Mahavir Nagar, Govindpuri Metro Station, Kalkaji, Chirag Delhi, R K Puram, Pushp Vihar Ramphal Chowk, Palam Flyover, Sagarpur, Dabri, Ganesh Nagar, Tilak Nagar, Dwarka, Malviya Nagar, Greater Kailash-2, Tagore Garden.

Jain said to aware people about Swachh Survekshan-2021, sanitation drives are being conducted at various places.

He said drives are being conducted at various roads, parks, colonies, markets, bus stops, metro stations, schools, vacant plots, etc.

A huge quantity of garbage was lifted by our safai sainiks and waste materials which can be recycled were sent for recycling.

He said people have been participating in drive and cooperating with us.
