100-S ward Councillor Shoaib Danish in a message to the residents said on December 18 at 5 pm the Congress will launch its “Pol Khol Yatra” under the leadership of Congress Delhi president Anil Chaudhary against BJP and AAP’s anti-people policies.

“The march is to begin from Batla House chowk at 5 pm. I request people to turn up in large number to strengthen Congress voice in the locality,” he said.

Abdul Wahab Malik, who is also eyeing Congress ticket and is close to former Okhla MLA Asif Md Khan, has also announced to hold one march tomorrow in Shaheen Bagh 40 foota at 2 pm.

Parvez Alam Khan, who had unsuccessfully contested MCD election last time, also announced holding of march in Shaheen Bagh at 2 pm.

A few days ago, in a video message, Chaudhary announced that the Delhi Congress will organise ‘Pol Khol Yatra’ in all 70 Assembly constituencies and all 272 wards in the next 70 days.

“The aim of this yatra is to expose the empty promises made by the Modi Government in the Centre, the AAP Government in Delhi and the BJP in the MCD,” he said.

“This claim becomes baseless when Delhi stands at the top of the list of the most polluted city. We will also expose that Delhi has the most unemployed people in the country.

“We will expose Kejriwal’s claim that they managed the Covid crisis while people were dying and struggling without beds and oxygen,” the Congress leader said.

“We will expose this city’s worsening law and order situation, the increasing crimes on women, Kejriwal’s education model that Delhi is second from the bottom in CBSE. We will also expose how the advertising budget of Rs 20 crore has now become Rs 465 crore,” Chaudhary alleged.

The 70-day yatra will cover 700 kms passing through all the 272 municipal wards in the city, he said in a press conference.
