OnePlus15 smartphone now comes with new in-house image engine: Everything you need to know.
Mobile phone manufacturer company OnePlus plans to launch its new flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15. It is said this upcoming device is the smartest among previous OnePlus phones, and one of the biggest reasons is that it is the first time the company has introduced its own image engine into it.
According to smartphone reviewers, this phone might challenge Apple’s dominance in the market. Interestingly, after the OnePlus 13, the company is skipping the 14th version and directly launching the OnePlus 15. This means users will not see OnePlus 14 model. The exact launch date is not yet known, but insiders suggest it may happen in early October. With Apple also set to launch its iPhone 15, it will be interesting to see which brand wins the market narrative battle.

The story goes back to 2021 when its co-founder and CEO Pete Lau admitted that several reviewers said OnePlus phones are fast and powerful but their camera quality doesn’t match famous brands like Apple, Google, and Samsung. Since then, OnePlus has been working to fill this gap.
The result of this hard work can be seen in the OnePlus 15. For the first time, it has feature a new in-house image engine. This engine gives complete control over photo and video processing. This will make the pictures clearer even in low light, render natural-looking skin tones, and improve background details. The phone OnePlus15 has a triple 50-megapixel camera setup. OnePlus15 will also have a new and powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset which makes the camera and whole performance faster and powerful.
It is also different in terms of display and design. It has a 6.78-inch 1.5K flat OLED display whose 165Hz refresh rate makes the screen very smooth. Furthermore, the phone has very thin bezels, a rounded frame and a square camera module at the back. The company has used LIPO technology in this, which makes the bezel even thinner. The special thing is that the phone has a new “plus key” button which users will be able to use as a shortcut button as per their needs.
The OnePlus 15 also has an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and it will be protected from dust and water with an IP68/69 rating. Both battery backup and performance will be stronger than before. The company says that it has designed this phone especially keeping in mind gamers and power users.
Another big change in terms of camera is that till now OnePlus used to work with the Swedish company Hasselblad for camera tuning but reports say that the OnePlus 15 will probably come without Hasselblad branding. This means that now the company will handle camera technology completely on its own. This will give OnePlus more independence and software updates will also be delivered faster.
Tech industry experts believe that the OnePlus 15 will prove to be a game-changer for the company, just like the OnePlus 7 Pro was in 2019. This is the result of four years of research and hard work. If the OnePlus 15 is successful, then it could once again put OnePlus on as important as big brands like Samsung, Google and Apple. The phone is expected to be launched in late 2025 or early 2026.
