The aspirants are in a rate-race particularly in two Muslim dominated wards, Abul Fazal Enclave and Zakir Nagar, which have been reserved for women.

Both sitting AAP Councillor Wajid Khan and Congress Councillor Shoaib Danish fighting anti-incumbency, opposition parties are strongly feeling that there is an opportunity to get ticket and win the poll and hence the locality is in grip of poll fever with aspirants spending huge money in posterbazzi, social media and door-to-door campaign.

Many ticket seekers, who usually for the last five years were absent from the ground, are seen raising the issue of garbage, water and bad road infrastructure in Okhla, said one Okhla watcher.

According to local political observers, ticket seekers from all the parties, including AAP, Congress and BJP, have gone hyper active defacing the area with their posters, banners and taking social work initiatives to impress the voters.

Who will get the ticket is still not known, but the competition among ticket seekers even in party is high with nobody willing to give an inch to his or her opponent. With the ward being reserved for women, now male ticket seekers are seen campaigning for their wives. Some among them are keeping their cards close to their hearts, said one observer.
