Is Asaduddin Owaisi coming today in Shaheen Bagh?
The wait for AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi to Shaheen Bagh is to be over today as he is to visit the area to drum up support for his candidates.
According to AIMIM candidate Arif Saifi, Owaisi will come to Shaheen Bagh after 6 pm to address a rally at 40 foota road. Saifi is trying his luck in the MCD election 2022 for the second time and he is hopeful that the young generation will back him.
Saifi said it is time that Okhla residents give me a chance after trying Congress and AAP in the last many years. “You see the area is yet to be developed. Both the Congress and AAP have failed to deliver and hence it is important that residents should give opportunity to a new party and new leader,” he said.
From Batla House too AIMIM candidate Laddan is hopeful for a win. After being denied ticket from AAP, Laddan left the party and joined AIMIM, getting ticket for his wife. In Batla House the other candidates in the race are from AAP, BJP and the Congress. Sitting Councillor Shoaib Danish has ruled the Batla House-Zakir Nagar ward for the last three terms and his wife has got ticket from the party.
However, the opposition in Okhla has attacked Owaisi claiming that his party will only divide the votes as it did in Bihar bypoll very recently.
