Walls of Nehru Place flyover get new look

The South Delhi Municipal Corporation under initiatives of flagship programme ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ has beautified walls of Nehru Place Flyover by making mural paintings.

Save community journalism by paying Rs 500, 1,000 and more.

Through these paintings, the civic agency has tried to draw people’s attention towards national heritages, said the SDMC.

“Images of Jantar Mantar, India Gate, Red Fort, Qutab Minar, etc have mainly been painted on walls of the flyover to reflect the rich heritage of the country,” it said.

Several images have been put portraying pollution as a biggest problem these days and messages to use electric vehicles instead of petrol/diesel vehicles have been given through mural paintings, it said.

Additionally, people have been suggested to depend on non-conventional sources of energy for a greener world, it said, adding that to protect paintings from the effects of pollution, the walls have been coated from anti-carbonation paint.
