Set up at least 10 Covid beds for patients in mosques, Amanatullah urges Imams

Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan in a video message on Thursday has urged Imams, mosques committees and religious organisations to turn mosque building into quarantine centres for Covid patients.

Save community journalism by paying Rs 500, 1,000 and more.

He said he held a meeting with all imams of Okhla mosques today in which it was decided that they will at least set up 10 beds for Covid patients in the mosque if there is space or nearby.

“Keep beds in the premises or nearby. Take responsibilities to keep corona patients and provide them all help. Let’s manage oxygen for corona patients and also interact with local doctors to take their help in giving relief to patients.

“The government is doing a lot, but it needs help from citizens. I want to appeal to all imams to convince people to come forward to help Covid patients by taking precautions. Tomorrow is Friday and I want imams to appeal and I am sure that people will certainly help them.

He said bed and oxygen facilities should be provided in mosques for corona patients.

“Open gates of your mosques for people of every religion and help the Government in time of pandemic, said Khan in a social media video post.
