Protecting innovation through patents, copyrights, and trademarks is the first step toward creating sustainable, scalable solutions. While Jamia has several patents filed, a large number of innovations still await commercialization, primarily due to lack of awareness about IPR and tech transfer. I appreciate the support of the MoE’s Innovation Cell and AICTE in promoting this much-needed awareness,” Prof Rizvi added.

He also highlighted the workshop’s alignment with national flagship initiatives such as the National Education Policy (NEP), Startup India, Make in India, and the National Innovation and Startup Policy (NISP), taken up by Jamia Millia Islamia urging institutions to strengthen mechanisms that translate academic research into real world impact.

Prof. Kafeel Ahmad, Dean, Research and Innovation, Jamia Millia Islamia, delivered an impactful talk on the importance of IPR and Technology Transfer in nation-building, inspiring participants to move from ideation to implementation.
