She shared her ordeal with a Batla House shopkeeper. She said while marketing she realised that her bag full with money and other items was missing when she had stopped at a shop for purchasing.

She said this is not the first instance that she faced such a situation as earlier too her mobile phone was lost from the market. She said on telling about the pick-pocketing incident to the shopkeepers one said some girls are also part of this racket.

Okhla Market Association general secretary Md Waseem said pick-pocketing has emerged as a new headache for the market visitors. To get the situation addressed the association had decided to put loudspeakers at different places so as to alert visitors to stay on guard, he said.

A top cop of the area visited Batla House on Tuesday evening, he said, adding that ACP Vijaypal Singh Tomar interacted with the members of the association who discussed burning issues with him, including that of mushrooming e-rickshaws in the locality and other issues.
