Okhla youths brainstorm on dumping of garbage on road near Al-Shifa, other places

Deeply concerned with garbage dumping in the open near Al-Shifa Hospital and other places, many youths came to together to discuss the burning issues impacting Okhla residents. A meeting regarding which was held at RWA office in Abul Fazal Enclave called by the Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO).

“After a long discussion we decided to raise the issue with Councillor and MLA tomorrow at 1pm at his office. A meeting is to be organised on Thursday,” said SIO representative.

He said just 100 m from the Al- Shifa Hospital and a girls’ school garbage is dumped in the open, causing harm to residents’ health.

The dumping of garbage for years has led to health problems and the spread of diseases, said the SIO representative, adding that the situation gets worse during rain and the stench of the garbage makes lives miserable.

The representative said these people attended the meeting: “Zahid Hussain (JIH), Margoob Zaidi (Alshifa PR), Fawwaz Javed (SIO), Mahmood Anwar (OYF), Wasi Rahman (VOC) and Zahid Afzal (SBF).”
