Asian Literary Society selected in 2021 Facebook Accelerator Programme

Asian Literary Society has been chosen by Facebook to partner in its Community Accelerator Programme. It is among 13 selected communities from India from 13,000 applicants, said ALS representative.

Asian Literary Society was started in 2017 to promote Asian art, culture, and literature all over the world. With over 16,000 members from more than 100 countries, the community has provided a vibrant platform to writers and artists to showcase their talent. The group has also organized many programs for people with special needs.

The founder of the Asian Literary Society, Manoj Krishnan, in a statement, said: “Being the only literary and art community chosen for India cohort was indeed a great surprise to us. This international recognition through FB accelerator Programme would help us to reach to more writers and artists across Asia who can access our world-class platform to hone their skills, learn the art of sustainability, and excel in their chosen fields.”

Asian Literary Society will receive up to $ 50,000 for its participation in the programme and fund its community initiatives.

A total of 131 participants have been chosen by Facebook from 9 regions with countries like Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Mexico, Brazil, United States, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco & India.

The Community Accelerator is part of Facebook’s Community Leadership Programme, a global initiative that invests in people building communities.

In this programme, the founding members will receive training to learn skills to lead effective teams, engage members in projects that further community goals, manage volunteers, and more, said Shivpriya, Administrator, ALS.
