Kalindi hospital visiting consultant and Okhla resident Dr Hassan dies

Many doctors in Okhla are mourning the death of Dr Mohd Nafisul Hassan, who was a visiting consultant at Kalindi hospital in Jasola.

Dr Hassan, 69, was admitted in a local hospital for week then shifted to National Heart Institute South Delhi for further management, said Dr Awar, adding that for more than ten days he was kept on ventilator support but could not recover.

He said he died of Covid-19 leading to respiratory and renal failure.

Hospital will arrange for burial at Government designated qabristan, he said.

The paediatric, who completed his MD from AMU, worked as consultant paediatrician at maternity and children hospital in Dammam under the Ministry of Health for more than three decades and after retirement he settled in Okhla, according to Dr Anwar, who knows the family well.

Dr Hassan has left behind three daughters and was born in a city in Uttar Pradesh.
