SDMC launches drive against dengue, malaria, chikungunya

BJP State President Adesh Gupta and Mayor Anamika today launched mega campaign against dengue, malaria and chikungunya by flagging off 16 auto mounted with PA(Public address) system, four power spray tankers, 26 motorized power sprayers mounted on trucks from civic centre.

On the occasion exhibition was also organised on preventive measures against these diseases followed by launch of self-assessment proforma to be filled up by general public during house to house visit by the DBC workers. On the occasion Chairman, Standing Committee Rajdutt Gahlot, Leader of House Narender Chawla, Commissioner Gyanesh Bharti, Addl. Commissioners and many councilors & senior officials of SDMC were present.

On the occasion Gupta said all three MCDs have launched this mega campaign from 25th August to 30th August in their jurisdiction for the prevention and control of vector born diseases.

He lauded the efforts of all three corporations and said that all MCDs are working 24X7 to combat the vector borne diseases.

Mayor Anamika said it is necessary to generate awareness to control these diseases. She added that these autos will roam in all wards to forcefully disseminate the message on prevention of vector borne diseases.

“The autos launched today will be able to bring awareness while roaming in the localities. We have to convey the message that it is very simple to control Dengue. Apart from these 4 power spray tankers, 26 motorized power sprayers mounted on trucks are deployed in all the four zones for fogging and spraying. She further informed that power spray tanker mounted on vehicle will be used for treatment of large water bodies & big drains, motorized power sprayers, knap sac sprayers for small water collections, fogging machines, rapid response team will be working for cross checking of breeding, and domestic breeding checking.”
