The news of his death has been reported by The Independent, London, some ten minutes ago. Ghaffar Manzil resident Bilal Zaidi said: “Reuters Chief Photographer Danish Siddiqui dies in Afghanistan while covering the Taliban crisis. He was a resident of Jamia Nagar and his father Akhtar Siddiqui is a retired Jamia University professor. He was the first Indian journalist to win a Pulitzar prize.”

Sharing about the news after coming to know from international media, a TV journalist wrote: “Danish death is a big loss. His work during anti-CAA protest, Delhi riots and the way he captured the tragedy and trauma of corona pandemic in his lens was just extra-ordinary. He had a promising career and we all expected more from him. He won the Pulitzer prize but that was a humble beginning. A thorough gentleman, he was rooted as a Jamia man. May his soul rest in peace.”

The news of his death spread on the virtual world like wildfire with many former Jamia MCRC students condoling his death and sharing his photos with messages.
