Cricket fever grips Okhla as Ghaffar Manzil T10 cricket league live OT coverage gets global audience

The tennis ball T10 cricket tournament in Ghaffar Manzil has turned out to be a huge hit with residents and cricket buffs turning up in large number in the cold night to root for their teams and players.

Its live coverage by the OT has got global audience with Okhla Diaspora residing in the Middle East and other countries watching it. Many in their comments reminisced about their old days when they used to play cricket in Ghaffar Manzil and other small grounds of Okhla.

Shadab Alam, the main organiser of the T10 cricket tournament, told the OT that the purpose of holding this tournament is to motivate youngsters to take up sports and motivate them. Two days of the tournament is over with final to held this week.

Commenting on the live video on cricket, a netizen wrote that he was watching the cricket clash from Qatar. “It has taken us back when we use to play at Batla House and children park ground, keep it up,” he wrote.

Another resident not based in Okhla wrote he too was watching the match from abroad.

The T10 match has been organised in the backdrop of India’s impressive win in Australia where the youth team thrashed Australia on its grounds in many years leading the series with 2-1. Performances of youngsters were highly praised by Indian and Okhla cricket buffs.
