Activist Md Sagheer said the Station House Officer (SHO) himself has been on the ground for the last two days, ensuring the penalty for bikers violating the noise limit rules.

A large number of bikes were seized on Tuesday, he added. The activist mentioned that the drive will continue.

The development was welcomed by local residents who appreciated the work being done by the local police and urged them to even come to Shaheen Bagh so that more violators are punished.

Several videos also surfaced on social media showing how the police were stopping bikers and checking whether anybody was flouting the rules.

An activist said bikers who were driving without helmets were allowed to go with a warning. The drive went on smoothly, said an activist.
