Mayor Anamika and BJP State President Adesh Gupta today inaugurated SDMC’s first Covid Isolation centre at SDMC Primary School, Andrews Ganj, said the civic agency.

Mayor Anamika said SDMC is working relentlessly to provide all possible help to the citizens in fighting this pandemic.

This Andrewsganj primary school is converted into a 30 bed isolation centre for the treatment of COVID patients. She said the facility will function as an isolation centre for mild and asymptomatic COVID positive patients. The centre has all the required facilities which includes oxygen cylinder, Oximeter, Infra-red thermometer, glucometer, BP checking machine, wheelchairs, water kettles and electric steamers. The centre has the proper oxygen facility but in case of any emergency, patients will be shifted immediately to the Safdarjung hospital. Each patient will be given a separate bed, chair, plastic cupboard, dustbin, toiletry kit, individual charging facility, digital thermometer, sanitizer, disposable masks and gloves.

Adesh while appreciating the efforts of all three corporations said that in order to strengthen the health infrastructure of Delhi, all three MCDs have come forward to provide their services and are developing these isolation centres for the treatment of COVID patients in their jurisdictions. He said that we have asked all councillors to join hands with residents and look for community spaces where people from the area can be isolated. Sh.Gupta said that community halls, primary schools, stadiums of all three corporations are ready to be converted into dedicated COVID health centres to supplement existing healthcare facilities.

Chairman Standing Committee Rajdutt Gahlot said this centre is developed to help the citizens who are affected by the coronavirus and do not have space in their houses for self isolation. Our team of doctors and medical staff will take care of this facility. This isolation centre has the facility of 30 beds but on the further requirement, beds can be increased.

On the occasion, Standing committee Chairman Rajdutt Gahlot, LOH Narender Chawla, Chairperson Central Zone Poonam Bhati, area Councillors Abhishek Dutt, Addl. Commissioner Randhir Sahay, Dy. Commissioner Sudhakar and other councillors and SDMC officials were present.
