Set up Covid rehab centre at Jamia as staff losing lives, V-C Najma told

In a letter to Jamia Millia Islamia Vice Chancellor and other university stakeholder, a senior university teacher has urged V-C Najma Akhtar to set up Covid rehabilitation centre on the campus.

“Now, the Covid has reached at each home and almost every family of Jamia. With death rate also increasing in current wave, we have been reduced to a helpless spectator… committed faculty members and staffers are losing their lives. We should not all this to continue at least for our beloved colleagues and their family members.

“In view of this, I would to suggest concrete solutions given below to prepare all of us to fight against Covid to save lives of Jamia biradri, henceforth.

“There is an urgent need to open a Covid rehabiliation Centre at Jamia campus with the following concept, wrote a senior university Professor.

Several university faculty members are Covid positive with some hospitalized and in ICU as well. Of them a few have died of Covid. Two deaths were reported from the campus a few days ago. .

Very recently, the VC had held a condolence meeting over deaths of some 11 people over months. Of them a few had died of Covid.
