Councillor Shoaib’s brother tests Covid positive, in ICU
Covid-19 cases are rising in Okhla with many residents reporting of testing corona positive. The OT is not in possession of any data to exactly point out how many people are suffering from the infection but residents have been talking about others suffering from the disease.
Words have spread that Coucillor Shoaib Danish brother Md Saleh, 60, has been tested positive. Councillor Danish told the OT over phone that his brother is hospitalised in Al-Shifa hospital in ICU as his oxygen level is low.
Besides there are other residents who have tested positive and are home quarantined. A family of two in Shaheen Bagh tested positive today and have isolated themselves in their flats, taking medicine. In the morning reports surfaced of Professor Ishtiyaq Danish, a Professor of Islamic studies at Hamdard University, passing away days after testing Covid positive.

A supporter of Danish even flashed this SOS on social media urging donors for plasma. “Contact: 9910786032, 9911554988,” he wrote.
As cases have increased in Delhi, strict measures have been taken by the Delhi Government to address the issue. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal convened a review meeting on current corona situation in Delhi on Friday and directed officials to ensure real-time availability of beds on Delhi Corona app.
