Jamia Nagar cops perform last rites of person whose body found in Ghaffar Manzil

Jamia Nagar police performed the last rites of a person whose body was found lying at Gaffar Manzil road near children park in Jamia Nagar a few days ago, said the police.

“On April 20, a PCR call regarding a male unidentified dead body lying at Gaffar Manzil main road, near children park, Jamia Nagar, was received. The staff rushed to the spot and found one unknown male, age around 55 years old lying unconscious.

“During this corona pandemic breakout, no single person from the society moved out to identify the unknown person. His photograph was sent to RWA president to establish his identity. Thereafter, it was found that his name was Hari Ram. He was blind fellow who used to beg in the locality for his survival.

“However, despite best efforts, complete credentials of the deceased couldn’t be found. The unconscious person was shifted to AIIMS hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead. Thereafter, the body of deceased got preserved in the mortuary of AIIMS Hospital, Delhi.

“On April 26, post mortem of the deceased was conducted in the mortuary of AIIMS Hospital and his body was cremated in the Sarai Kale Khan Electric Crematorium, New Delhi by ASI Ramesh Chand and other staff of PS Jamia Nagar,” said RP Meena, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South East District Delhi.
