Watch: Youth attacks shop owner with blade at Okhla Head when stopped from lifting items

A drunkard created a ruckus at a shop in Okhla Head on Wednesday night. According to a video by a YouTuber, the youth, a drug addict, entered one shop at Okhla Head and when asked to go out and not lift items, he attacked the shop owner with a blade. The injury was not very serious, said Rizwan Khan.

Later on, the shop owner said he is thankful to the police for doing a wonderful job and he is now fine.

A resident said police was informed which turned up on the spot and arrested the youth. Khan said following the incident at a shop at TTI Okhla Head, a large number of residents gathered.

Residents said such cases are on rise. The incident happened just after two days when a dead body of a youth was found near Okhla Vihar Metro station. Attacks by drug addict with blade or any sharp objects are not new, said residents.

To curb such incidents, activists, including Syed Hashmi of ECM, and others, have started campaign creating awareness among residents about how to save their children from becoming drug addict.

A few steps taken to check drug abuse included are closure of markets in the area before 11 pm.
