Vaccine cold chain manager South East Delhi, Alam, who is also an alumnus of Jamia Millia Islamia, said he was honoured for his work.

“A few glimpses of review meeting held at Holiday Inn for three days and appreciation for input in Covid vaccination programme implementation. I am really glad to be a part of this project. Special thanks to… Amit Singla IAS (secretary H&FW), Dr Monika Rana (director DFW), Dr Puneet Jaitley (SEPIO) and the UNDP team,” he said.

It was under his leadership that AAJMI ran free vaccination drive for alumni and their family members when Delhi was battling Covid and many residents were losing their family members to the deadly virus.

Also, in coordination with the government body, Alam said he helped local NGOs in Okhla to hold free vaccination drive.

It was on January 16, 2021, when India rolled out the world’s largest Covid vaccination drive across the country in all its States and Union Territories. As of May 9, 2022, India has administered over 1.9 billion doses overall.
