Youth dies in road accident, hundreds gather to bid him tearful adieu

Hundreds gather in Abul Fazal Enclave on Sunday morning to bid tearful adieu to a youth who died in road accident on Jamia road on Saturday. As the body arrived in ambulance, residents gathered to have a last look as the family took the body to their hometown in Sikandarpur in Uttar Pradesh for tadfeen.

The exact reason behind the accident is not known but residents were talking that how after falling from the bike his head hit the divider after. Some said the bike skid on the road as it had been raining the whole day on Saturday.

However, what led to the accident can only be known after the probe into the accident is completed. The deceased’s father Firman was not in a position to talk with anybody. Residents said Firman has two children and daughters after this accident he lost one. When asked about the age of the boy, some residents said was 18 or 19-year-old.

According to resident Obaid Usmani, the boy used to work as a compounder with Shadab clinic and was friendly with others in the locality.

He said he knows the family of other person who is getting treatment at the trauma centre.

Victim Uzair’s brother, Zulkar, said he reached Holy Family Hospital after getting a call that his brother has met with the accident.

“Both were lying on the footpath. They were brought to hospital by some students after the accident which took place at on the Jamia Millia Islamia road in front of gate number 17,” Zulkar, who gave only one name, told the OT over phone on Saturday from Holy Family Hospital.

A resident said while returning from office he saw a youth on the road with some people trying to help him. Another resident said the accident most probably took place at 5.40 pm somewhere close to gate number 7.

Another Okhla resident Babloo said it is a said incident as the boy was close to my teen son.
