The decision by the Centre to vaccinate children in 15-18 years age group was started amid a scare of the Omicron variant and surge in Covid cases across the country, hinting at the start of third wave.

In Delhi vaccination centres for children have begun at Fortis hospital, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, and other facilities, officials said. The vaccine option for this age group would only be Covaxin, according to guidelines issued by the Union Health Ministry on December 27.

Keeping in view the ongoing situation, more than 3,000 beds have already been prepared for the children. All the healthcare workers are being trained and instructed properly for the treatment of the Coronavirus. There is no separate treatment for the different variants of the virus.”
