Watch: Stone flying from incomplete Zakir Nagar road hurting people

Residents living near the incomplete road in Zakir Nagar have raised concerns about the danger posed by loose stones, with several incidents of residents getting hurt since the stones were initially dumped for road construction.

These residents have reported that when vehicles pass over these loose stones, they are sent flying into the air, causing harm to people and damaging glass gates.

This situation is perilous for both pedestrians and motorists, and there is a call for the local MLA to take immediate action to complete the roadwork and reduce the risk of flying stones.

For instance, Mujeeb, the owner of Al-Ameen bakery, said his glass gate collapsed just two days ago after being struck by a flying stone.
Congress former Councillor Shoaib Danish said MLA Amanatullah initiated road construction by digging it, leaving stones on the road that are posing risks to residents.

He said just today, a shopkeeper was injured when a flying stone struck his glass gate, causing it to collapse and injuring him with glass shards. Fortunately, his injuries were not severe.

Another resident said the need of the hour is for timely completion of road work.

Danish said if the MLA does not finish the work promptly, he will start the work as his wife, Councillor Nazia Danish, was the first to get MCD tender passed to build this road.

However, later on the MLA jumped in and announced that he got the tender clearance and insisted on paving the road, he said.
