Okhla resident Syed Fouzul Azeem (Arshi) told the OT that he came to know about the incident on Wednesday morning and was in deep shock that how could somebody take his life.

“This is un-Islamic act and I am unable to understand what has gone wrong with youngsters in Okhla,” he said.

It is understood that the youth was a passout from Jamia School. The reason which led the youth to take the extreme step is yet not known as people are not willing to talk on the subject or share any details.

However, one university staffer confirmed about the unfortunate incident and said tadfeen took place in Batla House graveyard today.

A source said the deceased’s father is an employee of Jamia Millia Islamia.

A Jamia student Shivam Mishra said it is sad to know that youngsters are committing suicide. Rather than taking extreme steps, youths should share their problems with friends and family members and think twice about their parents who take pain in bringing them up, he said.

This is not the first incident in Okhla. A few days ago another suicide case had surfaced in the locality in which a boy hanged himself. The reason for him taking this extreme stop could not be known.

NOTE: Name and identification have been withheld due to privacy reasons. The purpose of the write-up is to create awareness among residents to take care of their children and people having dark thoughts should see doctors as mental health is important.
