Youth carries patient across waterlogged lane in this part of Okhla in non-rainy season

A youth was seen carrying a patient across a waterlogged street in Abul Fazal Enclave a few minutes before Friday prayer today, said Advocate Naved Ullah, who grabbed this photo.

Photo cropped to avoid revealing identities of people on request of photographer Naved.

A resident of N block in AFE, 5 number, he told the OT over phone that the street has been in bad shape for months and despite several complaints no action has been taken to address the mess leaving the residents in hardship.

Also, he made a video of the lane before the start of the Friday prayer today as Qadri mosque is located in this lane showing how namazis waded through the waterlogged street to offer prayer.

He said he was left in agony when he saw a youth carrying a patient across the water-logged street and he grabbed a photo to highlight the plight of the residents. For months a portion of the street has not been fixed leading to hardship and also the road nearby is dug up for sewer laying work, he said, adding that it would have been wonderful had the sewer laying work been finalised as early as possible.

Many residents are upset with delay in sewer laying work leading to dug up road causing problem to daily commuters, elderly and youngsters in AFE. A few days ago, as the OT had reported how a woman walking on the road carrying a toddler overstepped on a dug-up road in AFE under high tension wire and fell.
