Waste burning ban goes up in smoke in Okhla

To make Delhi’s air clean a green body has imposed a ban on burning of waste and leaves in the open. Moreover, residents found flouting the rule are also fined by the green body. However, the law is flouted at will in Okhla where burning of waste and leaves in the open is regular things.

“The ban has been imposed so as to clean the air but is sad to see many people flouting it. Residents should understand this that by doing so they are polluting the air. Moreover, there is nobody in the locality to impose this law,” said Javed Khan.

Residents lamented that it is very common to see burning of waste in the open at a time when government is making all out effort to address the polluted air issue as it leads to spread of diseases.
