Though located in Delhi, the national capital of India, the area lacks basic amenities, and its roads and other civic infrastructure are in poor condition. Residents have repeatedly raised their voices for improved infrastructure, but so far, leaders have failed to deliver on their promises.
The area is once again in the grip of election fever, with the Delhi Assembly elections 2025 expected to take place in February.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has already announced its candidate, and residents are eagerly waiting for other political parties to announce their candidates as well. This will help residents make up their minds, as many are unhappy with the performance of AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan. They lamented that he has failed to fulfill his poll promises. However, after getting the ticket for third time in a row, Khan has started cleanliness drive in the area to win hearts and minds of residents.
