According to NDTV, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday morning raided the premises linked to Popular Front Of India (PFI) in several states, government sources said.

Over 100 top PFI leaders and functionaries have been arrested in the nationwide raids, said the report, adding that the raids were carried out by NIA, Enforcement Directorate (ED) and state police in a coordinated move.

“The raids are taking place at the homes of national, state and local leaders of PFI. The state committee office is also being raided. We strongly protest the fascist regime’s moves to use agencies to silence dissenting voices,” the PFI said in a statement.

Residents, who are unwilling to discuss the issue with the media, said since Wednesday night security force was stepped in the locality many thinking it might have been done following the development related with Delhi Waqf Board case.
    More details are awaited.

ABP live reported that Delhi PFI president Parvez arrested by NIA amid raids.

NIA is conducting searches at locations linked to PFI across 10 states including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Assam.

NIA, ED along with state police have arrested more than 100 cadres of PFI.
