Painting on walls to aware residents about Swachh Survekshan

In a unique initiative, SDMC made more than 300 wall paintings on walls in all four zones, it said.

These paintings were drawn mainly on Dhalaos and on walls of Municipal Buildings/Offices. The motive behind making paintings is to make people aware about Swachh Survekshan-2021 to ensure cleanliness of their locality and to beautify walls of Dhalaos and Municipal Buildings, it said.

In today’s initiative, paintings were done on walls of Dhalaos and buildings located at Giri Nagar, Delhi Gate, JE Store Nizamuddin East, Compost Pit Sunder Nagar, Dwarka Underpass, Staguru Ramsingh Marg in Mayapuri, Near Modern School Vasant Vihar, Press Enclave Road near Max Hospital, Community Centre Dwarka Sector 23, etc.

Commissioner Gyanesh Bharti said the SDMC has taken several steps and initiatives to aware people about Swachh Survekshan. He said garbage cafes have been opened in various places where food is being provided in lieu of plastic waste/garbage.

“Nukkad Nataks and short movies/films competitions have also been organised in all four zones. Corporation staff and Safai Sainiks have been awarded for their special contribution in Swachh Survekshan. Drawing of paintings on walls is also part of it. Messages like segregation of waste in proper dustbins, keep surroundings clean, etc have been given through the wall paintings,” he said.
