    Shopkeepers rush to purchase masks in Jamia Nagar on Monday morning, know the reason

    Many shopkeepers in Jamia Nagar rushed to lay their hands on masks to cover their faces after words spread in the locality that a few shopkeepers not wearing masks were panalised on Monday morning, said a shopkeeper requesting not to be quoted.

    With Covid cases rising in Delhi, action is being taken against shopkeepers to wear mask. On Sunday, Delhi saw 290 fresh Covid-19 cases, the highest in six months, and one related death in the last 24 hours amid the spread of the Omicron variant. . The positivity rate for Covid-19 tests rose to 0.55 per cent, according to data shared by the Delhi government’s health department on Sunday.

    Following which night curfew has been imposed in Delhi from December 27 from 11pm to 5am.

    Also, the Delhi government has become strict against those who violate the Covid-19 protocols. The Delhi government has booked a number of violators and collected a fine of Rs 1.5 crore in just two days due to violation of Covid protocols, according to media reports.

    East and North Delhi emerged at forefront for flouting Covid norms.

    A total of Rs 1.5 crore has been collected by the administration by imposing a fine in the last two days. Around 7,778 violators were nabbed in cases of not wearing masks, not following social or physical distancing norms and gathering crowds.
