She told the OT over phone from her Patel Nagar house in New Delhi that they came to know about Sabeeha clearing the BPSC exam only a few hours ago after the results were announced today.

After completing her engineering from Jamia, Sabeeha took coaching at Jamia’s popular Residential Coaching Academy (RCA) which prepares candidates for UPSC’s Civil Services Examination. Sabeeha earlier had cracked UPSC preliminary.

As she appeared for BPSC, she sailed through. Dr Sarwat said her daughter is now going to appear for UPSC again.

Sabeeha, 26, is from Sitamarhi in Bihar and studied in St Joseph Convent School, Patna, until Class X. Later on after clearing Class XII from Patna, she cracked Jamia engineering exam and came to Delhi.

“She is very bright,” said her mother Dr Sarwat, a Phd holder.

Sabeeha’s father, who was an engineer at Doordarshan, died seven years ago.

For higher studies, Dr Sarwat shifted to Delhi four years ago. “I came to Delhi four years ago so that to provide quality education to my children. My son is doing BTech from Amity. Sabeeha is a very hard working and meritorious girl, who believes in serving and giving back to society,” she said, adding that it is a proud moment for the family.

Sabeeha qualified BPSC in first attempt and is to become Revenue Officer, said Tanveer Zafar, a relative of Dr Sarwat.

Since its inception the RCA has successfully produced 190 civil servants, including Civil Services-2018 third
rank holder Junaid Ahmad. Besides, 245 candidates have also been selected in other Central and Provincial services from the academy.

The RCA provides free coaching with hostel facility to 200 candidates belonging to minorities, SCs, STs and women (of all communities) for Civil Services (Preliminary-cum-Main). Scholarships to 20 per cent admitted students at Rs 2,000 per month are also provided on means-cum-merit basis.
