A few days ago, the OT had reported that Sharfuddin, 69, needed Plasma on urgent basis.

The Professor, who joined Jamia in 1984, taught Mathematics at Natural Science Department and was founder member, Indian Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics and life member, Indian Chapter of International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste.

His wife was also hospitalised in Holy Family Hospital after testing Covid positive a few days ago.

During the tenure of Talat, Professor Sharfuddin was the most influential person on the campus and in the absence of the V-C, the soft spoken Mathematics Professor was in charge of the university.
